Pink Friday

I love Fridays. It's even better than Sundays because then you know that the week-end will be over soon. Sometimes I probably like the anticipation more than the thing itself. I remember songs about blue Mondays and yellow Thursdays. I think I'd color Fridays into pink because then I can put on my pink glasses and expect better things from the world.

Thanks for your answers about e-books! I ended up with a bit of self-made book because I printed it out. But I was amazed by it. Frankly, I'm a picky reader, and this was one of those rare times when I could honestly say "wow". I was cautious before reading it because it was my first time travel. Somebody asked me what book it was. TIME FOR ALEXANDER by Jennifer Macaire. Lots of humor, action, romance, and very clever. And it touches your heart. I can never put down a clever book that also entertains me and pulls my heartstrings. I've never tried this genre or this author and didn't know what I've been missing out on.

So, my "deep" questions. Did you try to read outside of your familiar realm? What are you looking for in a book? What's your favorite day of the week? And in what color would you picture it?

I try to read outside of the familiar. If nothing else, it gives me a different perspective on things. I'm looking for satisfaction in a book. I want it to pick me up, shake me up, and then gently place me on my feet at the end :)

Friday is my favorite day... because you have the whole weekend to look forward to!

I have a difficult time reading outside my 'zone of interest'. It may surprise people to know I'm not an avid romance reader. I prefer historical fiction, with or without a love story. Having come into the romance genere, though, I am reading more romances. It helps with trends, and submissions, and there's no lack of quality.

I'm not a sci-fi fan. Movies, okay. Books, almost never. So when my brother recommended Alma Alexander's books (she's a friend of his), I said ok. They are fantasy historical romance, and really well done. Check her out if you're looking for something new.

Hi, Olga! I tend to read what I like. I don't usually go outside that unless I'm judging a contest. My favourite day is Friday. Because like April said, you have the whole weekend ahead of you.

April, I loved your description of the book! It's great when a book can "pick you up, shake you up, and then gently put you on your feet in the end"! Awesome!

My favorite day is Monday, particularly during the school year. It's kind of my day to relax.

I'm all over with reading. My taste runs the gamut from true life adventure like "The Perfect Storm" to straight fantasy.

Marty, yes, it's a bit surprising, though I did know you like history judging by your books. And thanks for the tip. Phantasy is definitely something new for me.

Cindy! Great to "see" you again! And so far Friday is "winning."

Rene, thanks for stopping by! Um, Monday is the least of my favorite days. For me, there's something right about calling them blue because that's when I sometimes have the blues.

Olga, glad you found a good book. I read outside my genre, but I mostly read romance/romantic suspense. However I am loving PJ Tracy and Minette Waters. That is how I'd like to write!

Favourite day? Hmm. Depends on the kids' schedules. But NEVER Mondays :)

Toni, thanks for stopping by! RS is also my fave. The books by Allison Brennan were one of the best I've read in that genre.

Hi Olga! I've tried books of different types and like you, found to my surprise some I've really enjoyed. Though I do believe some of that is due to luck, I got an author who was good as well. :)

Cole, hi! Glad you found something you liked. Sometimes, the book might be not as good and put off the genre forever...

It's always great to have a good read. I have to say though, Saturday always wins out over Friday!

Claire, did I tell you how much I love your avatar? Awesome! Saturdays are good. I love Saturdays. I wish the entire week was one long Saturday. I guess I means I need a vacation.
