Vices

Nephele Tempest in RTB blog entry mentioned how her friend said that every woman should have a vice (Nephele's is books). I'd say, every woman should have many vices. I mean, those pleasures that make us happy and our lives worth living (hey, we work hard for it, and we deserve it!). So, what vices has yours truly?

1. Yes, books. If given a chance, I'd probably surround myself by books for days, breaking away only for showering and talking with friends. No food breaks, I learned to eat while reading for the lack of time, and do it carefully - normally no books suffer in the process.

2. Coffee and soda. I drink coffee black and strong. Add to that several cans of Diet Soda a day, and I start wondering if my blood will soon have a significant dark-brown color. I know it's not good for heart, but if I don't get my coffee, I get heavy headaches and slight crankiness. Consequently, I have to drink coffee for the sake of people around me.

3. Internet. Friends, support, connection to the world, entertainment, wealth of information. Everything at your fingertips!

4. Shrimp, strawberry cheesecake, and milk chocolate. Wait, and ice-cream. If I didn't think I might blow up like a balloon, I could eat the entire gallon of ice-cream by myself. I'm not kidding.

5. Bailey's. Now, I have it only once a year, for Christmas, but I totally adore that stuff. The rich taste on the lips and then the tongue, the exciting feeling when it warms you up inside, and the anticipation of the next touch, I meant, sip. Was I talking about Bailey's or the kiss? Well, you can always combine two pleasures.

So, what are your vices?

Well coffee isn't a vice, it's a necessity - at least for me it is. My vice is underwear. I love buying lingerie, other people buy shoes or bags. I buy knickers.

Nell, actually, I agree about coffee. It's a necessity. For me, it's part of morning ritual, like brushing teeth. As for your vice, wow, you must have quite a collection!

Sulome', it's an addictive trio, isn't it? And thanks for visiting!

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, I usually stick with coke or water. But I think my vices are books, the net, and my ever growing wrestling collection oh and hockey. can't forget that one lol

Water is much healthier for you, Lis, believe me! Alas, I'm past that stage. And wrestling and hockey are awesome vices!

Kelly, we seem to have the same vices! I'm wondering, are vices contagious? And can they spread across the net?

Rene, lol, and thanks for honesty!

Reading and books are my vices. Not much of a confession, but I kind of like gravy, too. ;)

Posted by Olga:

Meretta, lol about the gravy! Yep, you have very innocent vices (did I just say an oxymoron?)

If you're going to mention gravy - potatoes and gravy. Books, soda (coke, pepsi, mountain dew), pizza, books, internet, myspace, books, DVD's, TV, books, NFL, blogging, books, cashews, chocolate. Oh, and did I mention books?
Saturday, March 10th 2007 @ 5:36 AM

Posted by Olga:

Bailey, lol, and you did mention books - 5 times! No, wait, 6!

oo--I have all those vices Olga, except shrimp and coffee. I drink tea--and God, is gravy a vice? Guilty as charged.

My real vice, the one that is just bad, is swearing. I so love to swear. Fortunately I do it very quietly, so most people who know me wouldn't even think I swear much, but inside? Worse than a sailor :)

Toni, yep, I think any food in excess is a vice. So here goes the gravy. As for swearing, don't feel bad. Sometimes you just can't help it. Let's say, if a hammer dropped on my toe, I doubt I'd have enough patience to say, "Well, that was a quite unfortunate accident and hurt very much." Most likely, I'd just use one word.

Well at the moment (while avoiding looking at a certain corner of the room) is the tendency to avoid ironing of any kind...
Sunday, March 11th 2007 @ 1:49 AM

Posted by Olga:

Claire, lol, and I fight with that vice by buying clothes that don't require ironing. I love your new avatar, btw!

Mary, books at the first place! The best addiction, isn't it?

Cole, glad to have you back! I hope you had a great vacation!

Marty, hmm, French fries are like chips - you can't eat only one! For me it would be milkshakes - I think I could drink a sea of them! Or at least a pond!

Books... of course. Followed closely by cheesecake and Christmas. Can Christmas be a vice? I love it. Anything Christmas!

April, thanks for stopping by! And I don't think Christmas is a vice. I think it's a blessing!

Boy, I don't have any lately because of my darn stomach, oLGA I have less than half a cup of coffee a day--and only because I'd get a horrible headache if I didn't have that. No sweets, no chocolate, no ice cream. Why me?:o
Saturday, March 17th 2007 @ 3:41 PM

Jerri, oh my, that's terrible! I hope it's just temporarily?
